MUSIC SCHEDULE

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and related guidelines established by local, state, federal authorities, and guidelines established by the United Methodist Church, many of our regularly scheduled meetings for music practices and related performances have been cancelled. Our ongoing Safe Gatherings certification and adherence to COVID-19 guidelines are some of the protocols to keep our Church family safe. We'll re-scheduled these activities when appropriate health and safety considerations have been achieved.

2020 Year-End Congregational Letter

Dear Grace and Friends,

Greetings, in the name of the precious Lamb of God, wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. The story of our Savior’s birth continues to bring joy, hope, peace, and love, to a world that is always in need of God’s grace. It is this holy grace, that guides and ushers the Church through every age. May your celebration of the Savior’s birth on 25 December, be merry. Jesus Christ is still the reason for this season, and why we call it CHRISTmas.

As a shepherd, called by God to keep watch over His flock by day and night, I kneel before the altar of God, praying for all of you. It is a prayer of peace, prosperity, good will, and strength. As you step from one year and faithfully into another, this is my prayer for you. Amen.

Going forward: social, and global events can easily distract us from counting our blessings. Especially a year like 2020, even if the blessings have been plentiful. In like fashion, it was not a good year for Mary and Joseph, being homeless and putting their precious newborn in a horse trough. Notwithstanding, Mary pondered these things in her heart,” in Luke 2:19. Like Mary, I invite you to ponder (meditate) on all your blessings of 2020. Bring all your blessings to the surface of your remembrance and share them for the spiritual enrichment of others. Your testimonies of God’s grace during a pandemic, uplifts, heals, inspires, and encourages others.

Please send me a brief note by December 31, describing the blessings that you have received during 2020. Email me this information to pastorreynolds@hotmail.com, or by letter to Dr. Reynolds: Grace UMC, PO Box 343 Crete, NE 68333. On Sunday, January 3, 2021, I want to share the collection of your blessings in a heart stirring message, to encourage, strengthen and inspire the people of God. Let the record show with your collective voice, in the midst of a pandemic and its global cloud of negativity, that God is still in the blessing business. America is athirst for good news. Your stories escorted by the gospel of Jesus Christ will brighten the launching of 2021. I am excited to read and share with others, what God has done in a year heavily emphasized with loss, social unrest and conflict.

Grace, the capstone of living your faith during this pandemic, has been the constant outpouring of your generosity and gifts to God. Even during our online worship, when our doors were closed, the stewardship of your giving continued. Thank you, Grace, and friends for your faithfulness. If you desire to give God thanks with a Year-End-Gift, you can include it with your 2020-blessing note. Thank you, Greeters, Ushers, Sunday School Teachers, Music Ministry and staff, Church Council, Trustees and all Committee Members for your service and commitment to continue serving God in 2021. Remember: “Ponder these things in your heart.”

In the name of the Christ Child,

Rev. Dr. Wayne M. Reynolds, Pastor
